The Emmy-award winning humor series Modern Family has bad news. After being on the air during 10 years the cycle will come to an end.

Nolan Gould, who plays Luke Dunphy on the mythical show posted today an image of the whole cast on Instagram officializing the news, Modern Family will not continue after next season.

“Modern Family’ was picked up for an 11th and final season,” he wrote. “So happy that I get to spend one more year with this cast and crew. And grateful for the run we’ve had. What a journey it’s been. Thanks for taking it with us.

Steve Levitan (“Just Shoot Me”) and Christopher Lloyd (“Frasier”), decided to gather together in 2009 to make a new sitcom. They had a big hit that first year, but sometimes too much success brings ego and personal problems. Finally, they agreed to direct a chapter each and “Modern Family”  became one of the most seen sitcoms globally.

Unfortunately, ABC announced today that time came to do the last season.

“Chris and Steve have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said to journalists at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California, in announcing the ending of “Modern Family.”

It’s indeed hard to say goodbye to a series which drawn more than 10 million viewers each week and which has won the Emmy Award as the best comedy for five times in a row.
